If I told you, that I would sell you a website for a billion dollars that didn't work, would expose everyone's personal information, and that would be an absolute mess, you'd probably think I was crazy. However if you work for the Obama administration, this is just another day at the office. The Obama administration has made a habit to overpay for promise yet deliver very little results. I call it Obamanomics.
In just 30 days, Americans have had their insurance policies cancelled and have been directed towards a site called healthcare.gov to submit their personal information which can be shared with people that you don't know who can do God knows what with it. In just 30 days, we've seen the massive debacle that the invidual mandate of Obamacare has turned out to be. In just 30 days, we've yet to see the worse.
That's because President Obama, with just one presidential tweet, cancelled the employer mandate for the year 2014, which was a critical piece of his signature achievement. The employer mandate would require that all employers with more than 50 employees provide "affordable" health insurance. If employers don't, they will face a fine for not playing by Obamacare's rules. For just 2014, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated that employers would be fined over $10 billion simply for not providing the right type of Obama mandated healthcare.
Imagine that employers would have to give President Obama an additional $10 billion just for doing business. Keep in mind that individuals who did not get employer mandated insurance and who chose not to buy Obama mandate healthcare would also have to face an additional fine. That would mean that an employer would have to pay a fine and an individual would have to pay a fine because they chose not to participate in Obama's healthcare scheme.
Paying money for nothing, that sounds like another Obamacare policy. In fact, it sounds like what happened with the healthcare.gov website. We paid almost a billion dollars for a website that we could have bought for about $1500. To boot, it will probably cost U.S. taxpayers an additional billion dollars just to fix this website, the most expensive website in the history of mankind.
To take a page from Ulysses S. Grant, the best way to get rid of a bad law like Obamacare is to enforce it vigorously. President Obama had no more authority than you or I to change the law with a tweet without the direct approval of Congress.
The individual mandate has been a disaster. The Obamacare website has been a debacle. The employer mandate will be the destruction. Enforcing the employer mandate will tip the scales so that Americans will finally revolt against Obamacare and demand its repeal.
That's why I've teamed up with Judicial Watch to file suit against the administration to enforce the entire law. We need to enforce the employer mandate. President Obama should get to hide behind a presidential tweet during a mid-term election year. He should have to feel the weight of the collapsing of his signature achievement as President of the United States. When a business fails, it feels the cost of failure. Let's teach President Obama a business lesson. He made his bed, now we should make him sleep in it. Enforce the law that he fought so hard to pass during the middle of the night on a procedural technicality.
Let's show President Obama that we care.
There’s an old political adage: If your opponent is determined to hang himself, for Heaven’s sake, don’t take away the rope.
Yet that's what many Republican leaders, like Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Florida Representative Tim Radal, are prepared to do if their efforts to delay the implementation of the individual mandate for an additional year end up becoming law.
Right now the administration is trying to figure out how they can make it past the midterm elections without the American people realizing what a big boondoggle that Obamacare really is.
When you look at the individual mandate, it's become an absolute mess. The healthcare exchanges don't work. Few people can even get on the website, and the ones that do get on find out that their healthcare premiums are going up significantly. A series of errors has forced the administration to delay the enforcement of the individual mandate from February 15 to March 31, to give frustrated Americans six more weeks to login to a website that doesn't work.
What's even worse is that in addition to the individual mandate, the employer mandate requiring all employers with over 50 employees to offer health insurance to their employees, has already been postponed for an additional year until 2015. Obama waived the employer mandate to offer, in his own words, "transition relief" to big business. In the same breath he denied that same compassion to the average working American with calloused hands.
If you think that the administration is dealing with more than they can handle with the individual mandate, imagine if they had to implement the employer mandate as well. If that were the case, some members of the administration would want to reinstitute the government shutdown.
Plain and simple, it would be even more of a disaster.
But unlinke Senator Rubio's plan to waive the individual mandate of Obamacare, the waiving of the employer mandate apparently required no such act of Congress, according to the President, the Secretary of Treasury Jack Lew, and the acting Director of the IRS Daniel Werfel.
After the employer mandate was waived back in July of this year with one Presidential tweet, my business and I suffered injury and harm. My local orthodontist practice had already expended time, energy, money, and had incurred legal fees as a result of our compliance with the employer mandate of Obamacare.
As a result, earlier this month Judicial Watch filed suit on behalf of my business Kawa Orthodontics to enforce the employer mandate. I have standing to file this lawsuit because I have suffered injury, and my ultimate goal is make the administration enforce their own law.
To paraphrase Ulysses S. Grant, the best way to ensure the repeal of a bad law is to enforce it vigorously. Make no mistake about it my friends, Obamacare is a bad law.
Obamacare is such a bad law that Democrats would love if both the employer and individual mandates were waived for at least one year. Think of this this way, if Americans truly felt the cost of Obamacare, the Democrats would be voted out of office in droves.
That's exactly what Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy told CNBC's Larry Kudlow last Friday night on the Kudlow Report when discussing this issue as well as my federal lawsuit on Obamacare. The best way to get rid of Obamacare is to allow Americans to see all of the side effects.
When Americans see more low-page part time jobs, employers cutting back on hiring, reducing the hours of current full time employees, they will rebel against the people that told them that everything would be just fine with Obamacare.
So when it comes to Obamacare, don't delay it, demand it. Demand that the President and his cronies face the music for an ill conceived political healthcare scheme. Demand that every American see how almost a billion dollars of their own money was paid to Obama top fundraisers to build a website that doesn't even work. Demand that the American people see Obamacare for the fraud that it really is.
Our President and this administration have no desire to show you all of the side effects for their healthcare prescription for America. They want to slowly phase it in over 7 years so that by the time it is fully implemented you probably forgot what live was like without government run healthcare.
That's why the message to Congress must be clear: if you truly want to do what's right for this country then don't delay Obamacare, demand it. Demand that it be enforced. Demand that it be exposed. Demand that the sooner it comes, the sooner it can go.
When our forefathers set upon this land a new nation, the last thing they wanted was another King George III to tell them what to do. For that reason, they constructed a republic that was built upon the separation of powers with a system of checks and balances designed to ensure that a Tyrant would never rise.
Some two hundred plus years later, not only is the Tyrant in power, but last year we just re-elected him and gave him the ability to do whatever he wants.
The President of the United States takes an oath upon entering office to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States." In reality, he's the one that we have to preserve, protect and the defend the Constitution from.
It appears that the President took an oath to pick and choose which laws he wants to follow based upon political expediency and the will of his big business donors.
That's why back in July before travelling on an 8 day African vacation, President Obama sent out a tweet that he was delaying the Obamacare employer mandate one year until 2015. However in section 1513 paragraph (d) it clearly states that the effective date of the employer mandate "shall apply to months beginning after December 31, 2013."
The President is charged with enforcing the law and not rewriting the law. The only group that can rewrite the Obamacare law is the United States Congress. They are the ones who enacted it and they are the only ones who can change it, according to the Constitution.
Yet that is exactly what didn't happen. The President has decided to change the law because he has too many special interest groups to give employer mandate waivers to. He already gave one to members of Congress, labor unions, and Nancy Pelosi's entire district, but the list of people who weren't ready to follow his Obamacare employer mandate was growing too fast. Therefore, the President deemed it best for himself and his party to delay the employer mandate until after the 2014 midterm elections.
I say that the best way to defeat Obamacare is to enforce it vigorously. Don't fool America into thinking that Obamacare isn't that bad just because we've watered it down the first couple of years. Let the American people truly feel the pain of higher premiums, employer dropped health care coverage, reduced hours for employees, and less access to medical care.
Then and only then will the American people rise up and demand change.
That's why on October 1, Judicial Watch filed suit on behalf of me and my local business, Kawa Orthodontics, to enforce the employer mandate and challenged the President's legal authority to change an act of Congress which he himself signed into law.
The President does not have any more legal authority to change the law than you or I. Yet he has made himself a Congress of one, and rewrote his own signature piece of legislation without getting his changes approved by Congress. He has crossed the red line from Democratic President to all knowing Tyrant.
President Obama thinks that he doesn't have to follow the Constitution because he knows better, and there's nothing you can do to stop him.
Thanks to Tom Fitton and Judicial Watch, I'm doing whatever I can to stop him. Americans must make sure that the President is not allowed to run amuck of our laws and Consitution. He must be held to the Constitutions standards and must as he swore to do, "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America."
BOCA RATON, FL.- Dr. Larry Kawa and his wife, Virginia, along with American Courage PAC hosted a reception and dinner for the Honorable Rudy Giuliani at their home in West Boca.
The former NYC Mayor was graciously received and enjoyed the interaction with guests as he answered questions and commented on his support of Mitt Romney for President. He later "put on his best" as he greeted the attendees and shared in a photo session with all of his supporters. Dinner was served and Dr. Kawa, Virginia, and guests enjoyed a superb meal to the delight of the much appreciative Honorable Giuliani. A spectacular evening was shared by all!
